Business deals increase at Sweco


Mindset is providing Sweco with leadership and business skills training. Both of these training efforts have given tangible results on both the individual and organizational level.

The challenge

Talented specialists have become managers and will lead groups and individuals while simultaneously selling and running new projects. Skilled engineers can solve the problem technically, but lack the tools to convert this practically.

- We place high demands on our consultants. They must sell and also run and deliver projects. So we need help with work routines and new methods, says Krister Jansson, Regional Managers, Western Region.

The solution

- Having a supplier that takes care of the entire process is easy, effective and beneficial. That way we can make several decisions at once and at the same time we can ensure a uniform methodology and set of tools. Mindset came in at just the right time and I had a very good gut feeling when I met them. They were also able to understand me as well the company’s needs, says Krister.

Before the training, extensive pre-studies, including interviews and analyses, have been done. And Mindset transferred the information to all consultants so that the information was spread in the best possible way for all of the training groups.

- We are a group of critical thinkers who need skills to lead and motivate people as well as needing to increase the pride we have in what we do. There has been a lot of focus on getting employees to see the value of what we deliver to our customers, with the key here being our personal relationships and discussions we have with them.

The results

Krister says that the employees speak more natrually now about using tools to solve situations and discussions have reached a higher level. People who never talked about business before, come now with ideas and thoughts. It’s obvious that the course has stayed with everyone after the actual training days themselves

- In addition to evaluating the training itself, we also measure financial aspects, and I see clearly that the number of new deals has increased. In all areas, we have raised our targets and there is an upward moving trend. There are more customer meetings being booked and the number of new deals has increased. The training has played a key role in this change.
