Strengthened project managers within TeliaSonera
Project methodology, leadership, and communication are the main areas in TeliaSonera’s training initiative. Mindset helped them with increasing confidence, methods, and streamlining.
Mindset has trained 24 project managers within TeliaSonera. The training was divided into two meetings of two days each, in which the first part focused on achieving an increased effect from client projects through clearer structure, steering, and follow up of projects.
Here the participants also received a common grounding in the project model, TS Promo. Part two focused on strengthening the participants’ leadership skills in their roles with the help of role play and exercises.
“We wanted to find a training program that elevates project leaders’ competences and where the participants recognize themselves. It was important to find something that corresponded exactly to our organization and with examples from our workday, says Bengt Estmalm, manager.
With realistic exercises taken directly from the participants’ work, the course participants were trained in handling specific management situations, in structuring meetings etc, with the purpose of becoming more effective.
- It became a course that was directed specifically to us, and Mindset’s trainers have really gotten across to the group. We’ve never gotten such good evaluations for any other course. It has been great from start to finish.
- Mindset is good to work with; they are good at tailoring and customizing according to our daily reality. The collaboration has worked very well and we are in contact at regular intervals, both for planning before courses and for evaluations and follow-ups.
Through this training the group was strengthened and the participants are already noticing effects from the training.
They have received a common project model and templates to work from, which simplify the job. They feel more comfortable in their roles as project managers and have found working methods that help them work more effectively. This is something that both we and our customers profit from. A third stage is being planned, which will focus on communication.
