Case
The Swedish Transport Administration’s 9,000 employees are responsible for the long-term planning, construction and operation of the transport system for road, rail, sea and air traffic. They create the conditions for a socio-economically efficient, internationally competitive and long-term sustainable transport system.
Establish leadership that builds trust, delivers results and drives development.
Together with the Swedish Transport Administration, Mindset developed programs to train leaders in the business.
The effect of the programs is a strengthened leadership capacity for managers and leaders at the Swedish Transport Administration.
Trafikverket's ambition is that leaders are driven to build trust, promote growth and maintain high ethical standards. Leaders need a sharp focus on results, collaboration, continuous improvement and the ability to adapt their management structure. To support this goal, the 'Leaders of Tomorrow', a six-month intensive leadership development program, is being introduced.
The program consists of four modules, which combine instructor-led sessions with theoretical content and practical application. These sessions are conducted either physically on site or virtually. Two experienced facilitators lead the program, and there are also dedicated follow-up meetings with participants' managers. These meetings aim to ensure deep managerial involvement and to support individual development through personal coaching.
After several implementations of the program, the Swedish Transport Administration has seen good results. Participants' ability to effectively manage their teams has improved significantly, and feedback from employees indicates increased satisfaction with the work environment. In addition, a greater proportion of participating leaders have initiated successful projects, resulting in measurable improvements to the business. Managers attending the follow-up meetings also reported strengthened relationships and increased collaboration between departments.
